it has happened to everyone, but there is hope. there are a few things you can do to get better photographs and be happy with the results. here are a few photography tips for shooting pictures of fireworks. use a tripod. this has to be the best tip any photographer could get. the tripod will eliminated any shake that stems from the photographer. even when you don’t realize that you are moving, you are. our bodies cannot hold perfectly still and any shake at all is a problem. since getting a great shot of the fireworks means a longer exposure time, it is imperative that you use a tripod to eliminate any extra shaking or movement. set your exposure time. in other words, you will need to learn to set your shutter speed usually from about 1-4 seconds. you also want to keep your iso down. using an iso of 50-100 is another key factor in getting a better photograph of fireworks. be sure and read your camera’s manual for full details on adjusting these factors. most of the time, if your automatic camera has a ‘night’ setting, this will do all the work for you. turn your flash off. be sure and turn your flash off, otherwise you will wind up with black photographs that seem to illuminate the smoke put off by the fireworks. most cameras have a feature that allows the flash to be turned off. if your camera does not, try taping over it and run a few test pictures ahead of time to be sure that works. bring lots of film or an extra memory card. you are going to want to shoot a lot of photographs to try and get that perfect shot or two. making sure you have enough film or an extra memory card or two should ensure you have plenty of space to get dozens of shots. remember, it often takes a whole roll of film to get one perfect shot. if you use digital, the space will fill up quickly on your camera, don’t delete any at the scene. you will be surprised when you are able to enlarge your photographs at how many actually turned out good. they might have even looked terrible on the small digital screen. avoid the wind. you will want to attempt to shoot up wind, otherwise you might end up with lots of hazy photographs. arriving early, scoping out the location and finding a barrier or shield from the wind, can all help get great shots of fireworks without all the smoke. start shooting immediately. the best shots of the fireworks that you will wind up with are usually at the very start. this is because fireworks produce so much smoke and it usually lingers in the air. unless it is a very windy night, the smoke will move slowly and will prohibit that perfect shot while capturing a very hazy look. set your focus. if you can pre-focus your camera from the very start, this would be an excellent idea. what you want is to be able to lock down your focus after manually adjusting it. doing this from the very start ensures you won’t be trying to adjust it in the dark during the fireworks. if you utilize these tips, you may just get that picture perfect shot of fireworks. even professional photographers have to shoot several rolls of film to get one or two great shots, so keep that in mind and be sure and take lots of pictures. jan 15th, 2016 open in app facebook tweet reddit mail embed permalink effective parenting from the heart family parenting kids i think we have all probably heard at some time or another that effective parenting doesn’t come with an instructional manual. yes, it’s safe to say that you will surely find all kinds of self-help books on how to care and feed your children, as this pertains to the mechanical aspects of parenting. you will also find books on how to handle diaper rash or how to convince your teen that it’s a great idea to have good dietary habits. you will even find books advising you what you should have in your first aid kit and also how to deal with colds and flus. on the other hand, when it comes to trying to develop good values to instill in your child, helping your child build a good character or dealing with their emotional development, then this can be quite more challenging. i think at this level effective parenting will come mostly from the heart. i think that maybe the best advice on effective parenting is to just rely on the love that you have for your child and let your heart guide you along the way. your love for your children and let your heart lead you. throughout all the developmental stages that your child will go through before they reach adulthood, your consistent demonstration of loving care may very well be your most valuable asset which will help you raise your child. jan 15th, 2016 open in app facebook tweet reddit mail embed permalink
